The Lamp Salesman is a likeable fast-talking vendor who serves as the principal storyteller in our show. The student playing this role should be comfortable onstage and have a clear speaking voice. (Boy or Girl)
Aladdin is a good-hearted, diamond-in-the-rough street rat. He carries most of the show, so the student actor should be a good singer and a sympathetic actor. The audience should enjoy Aladdin's adventures and root for him to save the day. Aladdin sings "One Jump" and "A Whole New World." (Boy)
Jasmine is a fiesty and rebellious princess. She embodies the characteristics of a great leader. The student actress must have a strong singing voice and solid acting skills, who can show strength in Jasmine's beliefs. Jasmine sings a couple of solos. (Girl)
Jafar is the sinister vizier to the Sultan. The villain of the story, Jafar is ruthless in his pursuit of power. This performer will be able to find variety of ways to portray evil (subtle, menacing, over-the-top, etc.) Jafar sings "Prince Ali Reprise." (Boy)
The Sultan is the doddering ruler of Agrabah. The Sultan remains blissfully unaware of Jafar's nefarious ambitions. The Sultan feels certain that his actions protect his daughter and uphold the law. The actor for this part must convincingly portray a dizzy yet doting father. (Boy)
Iago is Jafar's wise-cracking, sidekick parrot. The role is perfect for someone who can move well, and an actor who can provide some non-human gestures. This performer should work well with Jafar and maximize any comic movements. (Boy or Girl)
The Tiger God guards the lamp and the Cave of Wonders. The Tiger God is an all powerful presence yet a tad bit sassy to keep it interesting. This performer has good timing and is comfortable showing strength with his or her voice. (Boy or Girl)
Genie is the magical spirit of the lamp. Funny, fast-talking and quick-witted, this character is a chameleon who uses improvisational skills to help his master. This performer is a great actor with impeccable comic timing. The Genie sings "Friend Like Me" and "Prince Ali." (Boy or Girl)
The Junior Djinn are the "spirits of the cave" who help execute the magic of the story. They have an aura of mystery during the magical moments of the show, but they can perform like true Broadway stars during their big songs with the Genie. The Djinn have the biggest dance roles. (Boys and Girls)
Avis, a flying carpet, is a spry character who helps Genie and Aladdin on their adventures. This actor is a dancer with excellent movement and comic timing. Acrobatics are encouraged, and Avis will dance with the Junior Djinn. (Boy or Girl)
Abu, Aladdin's sidekick, is a curious little monkey who tags along on the adventures. This actor is a dancer with excellent movement and comic timing. Acrobatics are encouraged. (Boy or Girl)

The Ensemble members will portray Marketplace Hawkers, Gymnasts, Wrestlers, Bread Sellers, Fishmongers, Belly Dancers, Beggars, Cloth Vendors, Puppeteers, Royal Guards, Royal Trumpeters, and more! There are many featured speaking and singing lines. The Ensemble actors are very strong singers and are able to portray many different emotions. The Ensemble sings all of the songs in the show.
